[January 9, 1953] Up at 8 20 straightened up went to Dr Buckys cab 2 00 then to Weiser 1 00 then G. C. J. 85 phoned Danbury twice 1 12 to Rupps 1 10 back to station 1 10 pastry 3 67 board train at 4 32 weather bad arrived. Brewster weather abominable cab home 1 50 [plus] 50 papers snack 1 40.

Prepared oyster soup. Dinner very good tho late. Retired at 11.

[January 10, 1953] Up early had breakfast about 9. Awful weather.

Wrote some letters [and] checks Early dinner and then we went to the Portugese American Club to the wedding reception of Mario Monterios son [and] his bride.

Returned here about 9 30 after a nice time and retired at 11.

[January 11, 1953]

Up at 8 30 breakfast at 10 15 defrosted refrigerator made beds cleaned up the dishes.

In the afternoon I went to the new house. Joey Jimmy Jackie [and] his wife came over I made a fire in the fire place [and] we had a nice visit. After they left I came over here and started dinner which we had about 6 30. Cleaned up dishes and had long talk with Alyse [and] Ethel also with Rosie [and] Annie. Called Joe to get Everett Johnsons phone number. Jackie told us today that Everett died about 3 weeks ago.

[January 12, 1953]

Up shortly after 8 prepared breakfast for Freibe [and] me. Went in new snow to the studio to get a suitcase packed it and went by cab to Brewster station 2.00 for 10 52 train to New York fare return 4 05. Out at 125th Street porter .75 cab to apartment 2 00 to Dr Bucky 1.70 then to Mrs Rosin pussy willow 1.50 then toRupps. S. 85 then back to the apartment 1 25 dinner at 7 15 3 40 Retired at midnight.

I arrived at the apartment shortly before 1 Franz came a little later [and] we worked til 3.

[January 13, 1953]

Up at 6 20 by 8 I had things in order my bags packed [and] ready to take down to the lobby where I left them while I went up to Broadway to get a cab. Then via apartment to 125th Street station cab 1.50 arriving 25 minutes before train time. Porter .75. Boarded train for Syracuse 9 10. Luncheon on train. Pullman porter 1 00 red cap .75 bell boy .75 Syracuse Hotel.

Rehearsal 3 20 dinner 4 07 concert mehr oder weniger good audience.

Late supper tip .75 Retired at 1 25 am.

Met Dr Ruth Alesander on train [and] invited her to lunch.
