[Friday 11 January 1957]
Freibe + I got the 1047 Train to Ny. I got out at 125th St+ went to Dr Carter for shot. He sent a man to help me get cab. I. went first to apts, called Franzabout 1 + he plays to-nite so I did not insist on rehearsal. Continued on to Mr Shlion where instead of an 1/2 hr. I stayed 2 1/2.
Arrived a little early for my appointment at W M. l.a., saw the Strausses and about 2 minutes later Freibe arrived . He had been lamp hunting among other things.
The Young book reviewers (about 40 or more (teenagers and I, were taped (comment+ answers on My Lord what a morning.
The left the station shotly before 6, had oyster stew at GC. [?] I bot ice cream 2.24 + we left a 6:50 for home.

[SATURDAY 12 JANUNARY 1957]
Up + breakfasted before Franz arrived. He was in the house by 10.10. Ruth gave him breakfast and we (Franz+ I) went to the studio at 11 + where Ruth had in the meantime, lighted a fire. It was beautiful.
Rehearsed- Brahm, Schuman a new spiritual Rocks the cradle, Morg from M Kerby's collection. and (fixed) assembled need last groups for program. market 20.00
Studio beautiful. We had a late lunch at 3:15 and George H. took Franz to station a a at 3:35. Freibe + I went to tea at the Tittles picking up the Owens on the way.
Had delightful time. Mr T's studio + what he has in it tru-ly exciting + the home cosy. Particularly liked the dining room furniture.
At home about 6:30 + had dinner about 9 + and it was very good.. Retired after m[?] call from Mrs. Richter. I had Prisco 7 [??]Frans

tues. 15
To Dentist at 11 2.50. Authors luncheon at Astor 1:15 phone calls .70 back to apt. 2:50 snack for Friebe + me
Than to Constances to meet the Begum. charming snowing.
Wonderful party. approx. 30 or 36 guests
Delicious food.
Left after 11, still snowing. Taxis impossible to get, so good we had our car. retired about 12:45
