They say if you put
brown Amber into an Iron Vessel
& pour upon it Oil of Radish Seed, [cook?]
a proper Degree of Time, for 2 hours,
the Amber will be clarified, trans
parent & harder, which will not be
the Case with Linseed Oil [scratched out letters].

Mairman, in his Lecture
on Amber, says, that if Amber
reduced to small Pieces is buried
in Sea Sand, in an Iron Vessel
& digested in a moderate heat
for 4 hours, it will be transpar
rent
