Sat Nov 14th. Up at before -5 left by cab to station 2.00 train fare 2.02 porter N.y .75
cab 1.40 bag from super .75 finished up my packing, made and rec'd many
calls, Freibe and George arrived, super 2.00 I left to meet Mr Fainberg re- will, too little coach
time, purchased umbrella 5.00, insurance .25 lost .25 porter 3.00, left N.Y. at 2 P.M.
excess weight 74.00 + gave Freibe 100.00 Arrived Miami about 6 and left at 8 +
arriving Panama at 1 A.M. and spent the night at airport snacks 4.10, Nov 15 left
early morning for Sane Jose Costa Rica and the place is gorgeous, wonderful
welcome and weather at airport. Beautiful hotel, lovely quarter inc. living room
had press conference, and made tape recording. Nov 16 Concert next day orchid from Franz in minature
Paris (opera) house. + afterwards supper in our living room with Steve and Franz and cham
pagne. Tues Nov. 17th invited the mgr. Mr Osorio and party to late dinner. Nove 18th left at 10 AM +
for Curacao, long trip arriving. and taken to Pisquedera Hotel tips to porter at the sea, beautiful and modern with
blocks of suites and air conditioned bed rooms. The weather terribly humid
we had a late snack tips. Sleeping was good. Nov 19 We had the day to our-
selves, went in town for rehearsal piano not [?] good, lady turner. Perform-
ance so-wie-so, Mike's sisters introduced themselves, and after 1/2 hr of
autograps we went to the Engels (Mr daughter and husband, who
have a very unusual place. Nice party. Returned to hotel at 1 and when
we left Nov 20th next morning at there wasn't a single soul from the
mgt. present. hotel bill and tips 50. + The trip to Aruba was quite short welcome comm Martin [Mussey?] and [Vinst?] and the new
hotel where we were to stay was not yet open so we had quarters in
Grand Hotel Annex, not to brag about, but our 1 room is airconditioned
the weather slightly less humid, we still swelter. tips After dinner Mr Vent took
Freibe and me for a ride to the Esso "town". Fantastic. Retired about 11 Nov. 21st
went to Sport Park for mike test and that night gave short outdoor concert
to make good Steve's hasty and desperate promisef ree concert for Arubans.. Conditions not all to be desired
estimated 8 to 10 thousand. Lateish supper at hotel. Nov 22nd rehearsal
in Esso hall lunch out there and press reception at hotel at 2 + Concert not good
