Mr. [Mister] Charles C. Cohen Howard University Washington D.C.

Dear Mr. [Mister] Cohen

In reply to your letter of January 19th kindly be advised that we have written to Mr. [Mister] Fred Hand the manager of Constitution Hall regarding an appearance their [there] of Marian Anderson. As soon as we hear from him we will immediately communicate with you.

We also took the matter up with Mr. [Mister] Pitou of the United Booking Office and he advises us that they will be more than happy to lease the National Theatre to you but they cannot give you definite information until three weeks before the date of the performance [performance] as they do not know what theatrical production may have to go in on that date.

We sincerely hope that our letter to Constitution Hall will help break down the existing prejudice there.

With very best wishes we are

Sincerely yours
