& civic process -- & exercises at Opera House -- I attended Opera House, but didnt go out to cemetery -- Telegram from wife, said she & Alfie were coming up on evening train -- I met them & took them to dinner & then up to room & left them -- Col Shaw went to Carson, leaving Jim Townsend to run his telegraph -- I got through at 2 -- home to bed at once --
Sunday May 31
The same -- Wife & Alfie & I took walk this PM over beyond Gould & [cury?] dump etc They left on 3:25 PM train for Reno -- Home at 9 -- & wrote letter to Dr Bergstem, Reno, and to Sam Crescengo and WM Gibson, Austin -- Bed 3 -- In Gibsons letter I sent draft of a letter to G A Wilcox att'y at Washington, drumming him up --

Monday June 1
Clear and warm, but blustering and dusty -- passed as usual -- Col Shaw off at Carson or Reno and Jim Townsend did his telegraph for him -- Through at 2 -- Home at 3 -- read etc -- Bed at 4 --
Tuesday June 2
The same -- cooler a little -- blustering & dusty -- Work as usual -- PM reported County Commissioners -- Col Shaw returned this evening from Reno & Carson & worked all night -- Through at 1 1/2 -- Bed at 2 1/2 --
Wednesday June 3
Cloudy & cold -- PM colder and during PM from about noon several showers of rain
