Hillsborough 21 January 1822

Sir

I understand there will be some contention about
the Estate of John Allison deceased, if so, Judge Nash
David Yarbrough William Shaw of Raleigh & myself
who are appointed Trustees &c by Mr. Allison wish to
retain you as Council for us - in case suit be brought &c.

I therefore hope you will not take a fee against us
until we have an opportunity of conversing with
you on the subject &c
