Leaves of Absence:

Lewis R. Aiken, Assistant Professor of Psychology, leave for the academic year 1963-64, without salary, in order to accept a National Academy of Sciences - National Research Council post-doctoral resident research associateship at the Naval Electronics Laboratory and San Diego State College.

Jean R. Burchert, Associate Professor of English, leave of absence for the academic year 1963-64, with one-half salary, in order to complete research and writing of critical study of William Painter's Palace of Pleasure.

Robert E. Partin, Associate Professor of Art, leave for the academic year 1963-64, without salary, in order to accept a position as Visiting Associate Professor of Art in College of Fine Arts at the University of New Mexico.

Resignation:

Richard W. Lieban, Associate Professor of Sociology and Anthropology, effective August 31, 1963, to accept position at the University in Chapel Hill in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.

Death:

Miss Margaret Edwards, Professor Emeritus of Home Economics, March 10, 1963.

BOND RESOLUTIONS

$2,942,000 University of North Carolina Student Apartment Revenue Bonds of 1962, Series A and B

The Business Officer and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of The University of North Carolina reported to the Executive Committee that the following bids had been received for the $1,000,000 University of North Carolina Student Apartment Revenue Bonds of 1962, Series A:

Bid of the United States of America, acting by and through the Housing and Home Finance Agency, Community Facilities Administration, offering to pay par value and accrued interest for all of the blocks of said bonds offered bearing interest at the rate of 3 1/2% per annum.

Bid of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc., and Reynolds and Company, offering to pay $602, 000 and accrued interest for the blocks of said bonds maturing in the years 1965 through 1992 bearing interest as follows:

$84,000 of bonds maturing in the years 1965 through 1970 at 5% per annum;
$68,000 of bonds maturing in the years 1971 through 1974 at 3% per annum;
$77,000 of bonds maturing in the years 1975 through 1978 at 3.10% per annum;
$77,000 of bonds maturing in the years 1979 through 1981 at 3.20% per annum;
$72,000 of bonds maturing in the years 1982 through 1984 at 3 1/4% per annum;
$110,000 of bonds maturing in the years 1985 through 1988 at 3.30% per annum;
$125, 000 of bonds maturing in the years 1989 through 1992 at 3 3/8% per annum.
