Friday 20th May 1859 too wet to plow
sprouted our oats rained a hard
rain this morning ground thoroughly

Saturday 21 May 1859 plant the
orchard 3 acres in sugar cane seed
finished crop plowing the [] field
it was rather wet to plow
at night it rained until the ground was
verry wet
Monday 23rd May 1859 finished breaking
middle + planting peas we have planted
about 40 acres in peas
mowed about half an acre in the upper
end of big meadow to destroy the cheat
it was just in head,
planted 1/3 of an acre in carrot seed
today ground rather wet to plow

Tuesday 24 May 1859 run 7 plows crop
plowing in mud road field
Wednesday 25 May 1859 worked as
yesterday cool nights + hot days
Thursday 26 May 1859 still crop plowing
in mud road field done all but the
[] ground warm
seen [] wet on the wheat today
some danger of the wheat crop being
cut off with rust
