Wednesday 2nd March 1859 commenced sowing oats
in the fulford field run 7 plows all day and the oxen
harrowing sowing clover seed where we sow oats
sowed the part in clover seed when we have Rye
in Jany lost it is not come up yet
we got nearly done the part we have to sow in
oats in that field about 10 acres
Thursday the 3rd March 1859 rainy this morning stoped
our oats sowing done no work out with
rained all day hard washed our sand bad
Friday 4 March 1859 cleared off last night warm
+ spring like today made fence + fitched
(mashed my finger today)
Saturday 5 March 1859 ground is drying verry
fast plowed in the orchard in the afternoon
Monday 7th March Rained all day ground verry
wet again done no work out
Thunder showers + hard wind at night
Tuesday 8th March 1859 too wet to plow or haul
choped + ditched Frank started north to by good
Wednesday 9th March 1859 still too wet to plow
halled wood + ditched warm + spring like
Reach Blooms jsut coming out Apricots in full blow
Thursday the 10th March ground too wet to plow halled
manure with 3 wagons on orchard + got
warm + nice but cloudy
Friday the 11 March 1859 cloudy + warm started to
sowing oats in barn field today with 7 plows
+ brushing with oxen
Rained verry hard at night for awhile
then cleared off
Saturdya 12th March clear + warm this morning
ground too wet to plow ditched halled rail +
sent to mill
