Rice C. Ballard Esq

Dear Sir

I am requested by the Board of the Planters Bank, of which I am a member, to inquire of you what was the agreement between you as agent of Mt Joseph Alsop of Virginia and P.J. & I.R. Barnes of Mississippi relative to the sale and purchase of their property in Yazoo County Miss. What was the private understanding between the Businesses & Mr. Alsop previous to the sale, if any [?] was, relative to the businesses having the property back again? Your answer to this will greatly oblige yours with much regard O B Hayes
