Very unwell today & in bed most of the day

Apr. 2 Not able to go to church today._ My son
Frank & his wife came up from Salisburg
and spent the day with us. By an effort
I was able to go to the table & dine with them.

Apr. 3 Quite unwell & kept my bed most of the day.

Apr. 4 In most of this day I kept my bed. Mrs. Long
& her daughter Lois returned home^from E. North Carolina

Apr. 5 Mrs. R and I went down to Salisbury and to my
son Frank's home._ A violent storm, almost a
tornado, passed over the town & blew down many
trees and several houses in the afternoon.

Apr. 6 Called in Drs Whitehead and Stokes and put
myself under their care. My brother Frank from

Lexington came ^& spent the day with me.

Apr. 7 The physicians examined my ailments and think
they can possibly remedy them. The mail ailment
seems to be about the stomach & I think is very serious.

Apr. 8 Letter recd from Maj. Ron. who has just returned to (?)
He says our vehicles are under repair & not yet ready
for use. Seems to think we'd better accept Larry's awards for (?)
