My Dear Beloved Mother,

The [St? Marys?] gave me
both your dear letters also one from dear [Appy] & all
the good things you sent on Wedensday for all of
which I [?] many thanks. For myself
I thank you just for the dear cheerfull letters
& in the name of all the house as well as my
self thanks for the nice trukey [grits? &c &c?]
I assure you there is a general rejoicing
when a basket comes from home.

I too had a letter from dear [Floyd]. in
she speaks of much gayety. it was dated
27th. I think they are having a
very gay time. I [went?] this morning
[?d] get [Mrs Camron?]s dress the [carriage?] tape
[sweet? come?] carriage nails & stamps. you sent
me no sample of the tape dearest Mother. so
I was obliged to get it as near as I could

Saterday morning. My beloved Mother our dear [?]
[King] is free of [?]
this morning for the
first time in 4 days
& appears much better
[Tousee?] cold too is
better she only coughed
[crou?y] once last
night. It has turned
quite cold. I do
hope you will hear
again today from all
our dear ours.
Tell my dear [Appy]
that it was a great
disappointment to me
not going to see her off
but that both [? Fraser?]
and [Tom? Gower?] are obliged
to be at the [Everglad?] always
& [Felham?] was obliged
to remain in the office
or she should have
seen both of us at
the boat. Give her my
most affectionate love. [&?]
with much love to all your
own child in [?] [T? ?]
