Dear Cousin do not laugh at me for writing the history of
a wild hog.

Butler got a letter yesterday from dear Georgia written
the day after they reached Washington City. Georgia + Lord
attended a large party on the first night. Florence would
not go. I hope now that the inauguration is over they
will be thinking of home. I hope they will remain at least
one week in Savannah on their way home. You cant
think me a weak woman for being kept constantly un
easy about my beloved husband + children _ God: has
been very merciful to me dear cousin in heretofore
permitting them all to come back again + again have
I been blessed in this way _ but this will not last forever:

I am so sorry your eyes (like my own) are so fast
failing you _ I love to receive letters from you my beloved
cousin. You write much to my taste. How my dear Tootee
manages to be so punctual in her correspondence with
me I can't imagine _ She is a dear good child. I all but en_
_vy the Miss's Fraser their long visit to Tootee_ My poor child! I wish
her purse was as well filled with gold as her heart is [begin crossed out] of [end crossed out] with generosity
I hope this week will end the visit of two of those young ladies
I ought not prhaps to say this. but it is safe with you my
cousin.
