My own dear Cousin

I have already written two letters to
dear Tootee this week + will my own dear Cousin give you
one of my beautiful scratches which I request you will give
her to read as I will want her to answer some of the enquiries.
In the first place did she receive her basket with Appys new cloak
from the Pulaskis the morning she left? What became of the
Doctors prescription for Nancy? a phial of medicine put up
by A. A. Solomon was landed at Frederica but no letter of advice?
Did she by the St-Margo receive a small box. a Champaigne basket
+ a barrel? I believe these are all the important questions
to be asked. Before I go off of the track as I usually do _ I will
just say Nancy seems better of that alarming symptom. but
very weak _ + has several times complained of chills tho no fever
follows _ I think a wet bandage helped her. Jones is crawling
out _ but Ellen sticks to the chimney corner. Thank God! I have
nothing worse in the way of sickness to complain of —

I write such volmes to dear Tootee it is difficult for me
twice a week to find news. I am trying hard to prepare for
vegitable gardening _ + to get all things snug before my dear
G + T? + Lord get back. In consequence of the prevalence of Scarlet
fever on 4 of the plantations we are kept in a state of ex _
