His children, three in number, were all by his first wife. His descendants are scattered all over Kentucky and the West and South. James Taylor 3rd, lived at "Bloomsbury" in the house erected by his father, James Taylor 2nd, in 1720, and he and his wives are buried near by on the same place. ZACHARY TAYLOR, brother of Col.George Taylor, born Apr.17, 1707; died 1768; married 1st, Elizabeth Lee, of Westmoreland Co., daughter of Hancock and Sarah Allerton Lee, of [Fauqur?] Cc.Va., married 2nd, Mrs. Esther (Jones) Blackburn. He lived at "Meadow Farm," a part of the original 10,000 acre tract taken up by his father, and now [1900] occupied by Major Erasmus Taylor, a descendant of Erasmus Taylor [Brother of Col.George and Zachary, above]. Zachary Taylor had seven sons, among them; zachary 2nd, who married Alice Chew, his first cousin; Hancock, killed by Indians in Ky., in 1774, and Col. Richard Taylor, of Ky., the father of Gen'l. Zachary Taylor, 12th, Orange Co. He is very often mentioned in the diaries. TABITHA TAYLOR, sister of Col.George Taylor, born March 2nd, 1713; married Thomas Wild. We have no record of her descendants, and no mention of her is made in the diaries. JERASMUS TAYLOR, brother of Col.George Taylor, born Sept.5,1715; was of retiring disposition and never held office. In the diaries he is generally called "E.Taylor," or "Uncle Taylor," He married Jane Moore, daughter of John Moore and his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Catlett Conway, and sister of Major William Moore, who is very often mentioned in diaries. Rebecca Catlett Conway, by her first husband, was mother of Eleanor Rose Conway, who married James Madison Sr., and became mother of President Madison. Jane Moore and Major William Moore were therefore half-brother and sister of Eleanor Rose Conway, .Erasmus Taylor was great uncle of President Madison, and Mrs. Erasmus Taylor was his aunt (1/2), thus forming a double relationship between the Taylors and Madisons. Erasmus Taylor lived quite near the place called "Greenfield" where James Taylor 2nd, his father, lived in later life. The house was about 200 yards East of the brick house now standing at "Greenfield." Children: 1. Mildred, b.1751, married William Morton. 2. Frances, born 1753, married Captain Garland Burnley. 3.
