Dear Sir,
Congress have been doing little or nothing
some business of importnace has been reported but not
acted on yet. I send the newest thing we have a
copy of the French Treaty. I know not what will
be done with it, by the Senate, ratify or not ratify,
they have had it a week before them. It is quite
disagreeable to the Span Junta, or Anglo-feds including that
party that wanted a [?] with France & a closer
connection with Britain - from which [?] good Lord
defend us.
