Flat River March 23 1780

I wrote you some time ago requesting you would negotiate a small matter between myself and M. William Lowe viz my note payable to him about [illegible] may Last for Pounds 550

I fully expected to have sent you the money Long before now but have been waiting for the Opportunity of sending it by M. Johnston who has been seting of to Halifax ever since the bad weather broke up but has never started till now. By him I have sent Pounds 500. which with the Butter sent you last fall will be sufficient to answer the purpose. By return of M. Johnston please to forward my note[illegible] Excuse the freedom I take in giving you this trouble. Mrs. Binnehan[?] joins me with respectfull compliments to M. Webb. I am with sincere regard [illegible signature]

Aug.t 25th 1781 Dear Sir By the bearer you'll receive 113 from which is all that was left of [132?] repairing the waggons after they were purchased. I presume this will be sufficient with the old [Tyer?] to repair the waggon in question effectually- I remain, Dr Sir Yours Sincerely Mr Johnston [left side says Bennehan]
