Dear Sir

When I was at your House we were speaking about a couple of Horses which I wanted to purchase at that time__ I have not yet furnished myself & from the discription of the Horse a Neigh-bour of your's was offering you for £20 [proc?]. I am of opinion he might answer my purchase, & if Mr Martin has not disposed of the Mare, I think she might do for the other work beast I want at the price mentioned, I must therefore desire you will buy them for me & send them here by the first opp.ty as I shall want them soon, & I will pay the old [proc?] to your order whenever it is presented-- If you should be disapointed in either or both of these I beg you wou'd procure me two such as you judge will suit for Plantation business-- I would not choose they were more than 7 or 8 years old of the price for the pair not more than about £60 [proc?] & as to the bargain I leave it entirely to your honour, but I have to observe again that I must have them as soon as possible-- I refer you to the inclosed Letter to our friend Mr Johnston for News, which please Seal & forward to him-- I remain with Compts. to Mr Martin
