Misters Johnston and Benneyhan Milners 24 June 1774 Sirs Inclosed youl receive Richd Hanson and William Robertsons third copy of their exchanges the first copy I have forwarded to Messrs Alstons as you directed & the 2d copy shall be sent [?] opportunity

As it was your [R"B,] wish I would sell as much of your Tobo [?[ make up the [?] you wanted to [?] I dispos'd of 6 hhds at 12/6 [Sterlg] I declared up [?] his note the remainder is yet in my possession for the best offer altho was of opinion as the people now have had plenty of seasons to stick [?] plants in the ground if 16/8 could be [?] from a good [?] payd in [?] you had best accept of that price. We had a long dispute about exchange you are lucky enough to get your bill at 25 and 6" left Mr Donaldson in town & was told he had been obliged to give 32 1/2 and 6" many people were obliged to give 27 1/2 I have money sufficient to purchase £150 [Sterlg] which I could not lay out as I received it late in the count. My [business?] calling me downstairs way before I return to [Petersburg] can't send you a state of your acco exactly, this will be handed you by Mr [McNair?] and I am Gentlemen Your most humbl Servt Wm [?]
