David:

You were asking about venues in New Jersey for your show. We have on the list the Newark Museum, Joseph Jacobs listed as contact and the Art Museum at Princeton, Allen Rosenbaum, Director as contact.

[HANDWRITTEN IN THE RIGHT HAND MARGIN "Good" UNDERSCORED]

[HANDWRITTEN "*"] We are also contacting several Maine locations: Colby College, Baxter Gallery Maine College of Art; Portland Museum is already on the list; and Bowdoin College Museum of Art. Let me know if there is anything else you need in terms of information.

Cheers,

Gail Thacher

cc: Terry Gips

[HANDWRITTEN COMMENT] *Terry:

May I suggest that you hold off on making contact with Colby, the Baxter at Maine College of Art and Bowdoin until John Payson is able to explore this contact at the Portland Museum of Art.

Got your response and am glad you're pleased with the New Jersey news.

However, those folks over in Terry's office are quick off the mark and have already written to all the Maine venues. Did you want us to delay in responding to any of them until we find out about Portland?

I guess am asking what your strategy would be now that we actually have the feelers out there.

Cheers again.... [SIGNED] Gail Gail Thacher

Comments:

[HANDWRITTEN]

David --

I was working downtown today, but found a message from Gail Thacher when I returned to the campus. I'm sending this list of museums to whom we sent a very preliminary query letter to determine their potential interest in hosting your exhibition. Nothing being committed at this point. I'll call you Thursday to hear your comments/concerns.
