David, The photos of your New England residence/studio are frozen shells of rustic beauty - - reflective of the creative genius, who finds comfort, solitude and inspiration from such lush surroundings. As always, it was a delight to hear from you. You should be proud of the estate - truly a showplace. What a joy it must be to retreat to Falmouth from the hustle-bustle of urban living. Don't cheat me from experiencing such a setting - WRITE A CHECK! (ha)
The new year is off to a good start. At present, the student count is 755 total, a 14% increase over last year. We're extrememly pleased. Our worst critics have even commented favorably (?) on how much better the students look.

The triplets arrived safely. Mr. & Mrs. Cooper stopped in to say hello. They are truly fine people.
With the new academic year, Fisk welcomed Dr. Osmond Smythe, as dean of academic affairs. Harvard trained, he comes to us from McKendree College. Yes, he is caucasian and a nice guy; Scholarly, although looks are deceiving. READ!!!
How is the family? Has Darius decided on any particular college? Give all my warmest regards.

I really miss sitting in your class having heated conversation on Art, it was great fun, and it truly seems ironic that I now am entering the Art field myself and I truly hope to be a successful as you or my brother, which brings me to the nature of this letter.
