TALLADEGA COLLEGE UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE AMERICAN MISSIONARY ASSOCIATION TALLADEGA, ALABAMA 35160

January 8, 1976

Mr David C. Driskell 1601 Phillips Street Nashville, Tennessee 37208

Dear Mr. Driskell:

Upon my return to the campus after a brief trip to the neighboring states for the holidays, I was happy to receive your envelope containing the notice of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Shows and the check for the Margaret Montgomery Scholarship Fund. I shall see that the check is forwarded to Mr. Montgomery and deposited towards that scholarship fund. I shall also post the copy of the notice of the show. The show sounds very interesting and exciting and I am sure that you will have a great deal of success with it. So that our alumni in Los Angeles can be informed, I shall have a copy of your article sent to our Los Angeles chapter by our alumni direcor, Mr. Joe Lee.

I trust that the holidays were enjoyable and that Thelma and the girls are well. With best wishes, I remain

Sincerely yours, Roland Braithwaite Roland Briathwaite Dean of the College

Mr. Richard K. Dozier P.O. Box 105 Lincolnton Station New York, New York 10037

Dear Mr. Dozier:

Thank you for your letter of January 19 in which you express your willingness to participate in the assemblage of the exhibition BLAKC AMERICAN ARTISTS, 1750-1950 (?). Mr. Jones told me of the resources you have in the area pertaining to architecture. However, due the limitation of funds and the nearness of my deadline date for assembling the material used for publicatons to go into the exhibit, I am no longer soliciting aid beyond the resources I presently have.

I do wish to thank you for your interest in this project and hope to call on you in the near future for the expertise you obviously have.

Sincerely yours,

David C. Driskell Chairman
