Dear Professor Driskell,
I hope you are back home and okay
after leaving South Africa. I am still okay too,
just to refresh your memory, I am Dennis Baloy (?),
that you met at Dr. Motlaia's (?) home in Dube.
I thought of writing to you earlier on
but I remembered that you said that you
might not be going to the U.S.A. immediately.
You know sir, when I took your address,
I also had something in mind concerning
the furthering of my studies. I wonder if you
could help me as far as scholarships are
concerned, you might be in a better position
to do this since you are over there. I was
doing my second year B. Se (?) (Botany and
Zoology), and I would like to continue
some (?) here since my studies ended abruptly
this year, going back to the same place even
if allowed would be too heavy psychologically
for me, a field of Dentistry I would also
follow if you happen to come across such.
Hoping to hear from you. Greetings to
all at home.
Yours sincerely,
Raymond Deuins (?).
