Purpose / Short Description:

Text of Petition (drag lower right corner to enlarge box): To the humble the general assembly of Tennessee
Gentlemen,
As the 30th of December last I wrote a letter to the
Governor of North Carolina respecting the boundary line between
that state and Tennessee, requesting a map of the line if any
has been made. Copies of my letter and answer are
here with sent for your perusal. I admit that my
letter was written without any special authority. The
paper are not yet received, nor are he fees paid. But
I feel myself bound in honor to make the payment
and keep the papers as private property unless you should
think proper to have them deported among the public
papers of the States and exonerate me from the payment
of the expense
I am, Gentlemen
Your Mr Obedient Seward
