Iowa City, Dec. 22, 1859.

John A. Kennicott, Esq.

Dear Sir, Little in advance of the time I promised, you will find enclosed draft for $900 due you for shrubbery. I have mislaid your bill and am not certain whether it is right or not. Please preserve my order and fill it in the Spring.

When Mrs. Crun was setting out the roots last fall, a small boy, about 8 years old, was present, when he remakred "Do all people, selling these roots, cut them up as much as these are! Oh! how nice flowers they would have brought if they had not been cut up so!"

If the draft is not sufficient to cover my present indebtedness, add it to my next.

yours truly

W. Crun
