Myers Kennicott
Your letter came to hand this
week; and by the next mail a draft that
has been expected by me -every-- mail since
Nov. 6th. During that period I have been
been almost destitute of money and
part of the time as a consequence
without sufficiency to buy necessary
food. Being disappointed in
other money due me which I expected
---positively--- to receive; I find it impossi=
-ble to send you the larger draft prom=
-ised, which I regret very much.
My prospects ---now-- for receiving
money from time to time during the
winter are far brighter than they were
a month ago; so you may expect
to hear from me again ere long.
The box of bulbs were received
in due season and in good order.
Tulips, Crocus, paeonies, and a lily
bulb planted; also D. spectabilis. The others
planted in a glazed frame that was ready.
Will Silene Regia do in that situation? or
should I have put it in the green-house?
My ministerial labors for the coming year are
to be at Plymouth on the C. B. & Q Rail-
road line. Should they grant me [underline: special]
favors at the ticket office, I will probably
see you during the winter.
