As Assignee of [SH Burch] & Co. I am ready to pay your fifty per cent in the Illinois currency held by the Bank at the date of the assignment. It is mainly of the best class currency.
The remaining fifty per cent I hope to be able to pay before long in [par] funds.
I should be pleased to see you and explain the condition of affairs and can be found for the present at the old office of [SHB] & Co.
