The box announced in your favor of the 14^th July has arrived in safety. The snails are interesting - You do not yet seem to have found the true habitat of Succinea. as but few have come - Among bushes and ^on the ground in wet marshy ground - and sometimes on hill sides far from water they are generally found -

You had better put the snails you find on your trip in alcohol - for fear of their dying and decaying before reaching me -
