Philadelphia June 28 1857 1325 Spruce Street

I send you by mail all the pins which I can possibly spare from those which we possess at present. The greater part of them are old, but not less proper for use. Of new ones I have added as many as has left me about the same number.

I expect in about three months time to receive from Berlin 30000 having sent by a sure hand, when you shall have all that you wish. The present parsel costs you nothing.

You mention the Mus Aureolus as inhabiting the prairies. I much desire to have specimens of this animal having but one very bad one, which was spoilt by lending to Audubon This with any other species and the bats of your part of the country will be very acceptable

Yours truly John Le Conte
