Home Wednesday Friday May 1st
Dear Bob – Letters to Charlie & Cora
from you came yesterday – We are
all well – this “May day”[double underline] – But
worked to death – we have just
got off the 4th load, to Chicago, this
week - three with our own team;
and to-day “old Dow” has to go –
the Charlie horse being lame.
We get off a Box, of many
good things, to Col. Ashley –
Hope he will make them his –
No use in getting orders for
us now – It will soon be
too late for this spring – Tis
warm now, and grass
starting – Uncle Joseph is here
getting trees – Mrs Winchell too.
No time to write – but we’re all
well – and have got the orders
nearly all up – Sold lots of
Evergreens – not much else –
