To the Governor of the State of Tennessee
Philadelphia April 1845
The subscribers having entire confidence in the
Integrity and Capacity of John Binns, Esquire, many
years as Alderman of the city of Philadelphia recommend
him to your Excellency as a proper person to
be appointed a Commisioner to take the acknowledgments
of Deeds, &c, and request from you for him,
that appointment; which we feel assured will be
particularly aceptable to the members of the Bar
and be useful to the community.
