United States of America W>T B -1 -7 -7 State of Tennessee

Know all men by there presents that there is due from the State of Tennessee to the East Tennessee & to Georgia Rail Road company or Bearer, one thousand dollars, lawful money of the united states, with interest at the rate of six per centums per annum, payable half yearly on the first of January & July in each year, in the city of New York, on the presentation to surrender of the [indecipherable] hereto annexed. The principal is reimbursable upon the presentation of this land, in said city, at the expiration of forty years from the state hereaf. For the performance of all which the faith of the State of Tennessee is irrevocably pledged, as these obligations are created by nature? in pursuance of and under the authority of an act of the General Assembly of said state, entitled "an act to charter Owen to Winstead Turnpike company & for other purposes" passed January 30th 1850, all the pertinent sections of which [act??] are hereto appended

In testimony whereof I William Trousdale Governor of said State have hereunto set my hand and caused it thus this to be countersigned by the Secretary of said State & the Great Seal of said State to be affixed at Nashville this first day of July 1850

The Treasurer of the State of Tennessee will pay the bearer thirty dollars on the 1st Jany. 1851 in the City of New York, being the semiannual interest thus falling due on Band Nos—
