that money can buy unless there comes with these external things
an inward satisfaction & peace of the soul that is as
clarifying to the mind & refreshing to the body as a whiff of ozone
on a sultry summer day. Day by day these Unless we
are constantly taking an moral inventory of ourselves we the best all
of us -- the best of us lo are apt to lose our perspective.
Day by day there are triumphs to be won over the passions
that stir in our breasts. Day by day there are triumphs
to be won over the base thoughts turpitudes, the base & petty
thoughts that defile our hearts & deprecate us in the
scale of humanity. Day by day there are triumphs to be
won over the spirit of impatience & mutiny that threaten
the authority & power of our reason. These are the
triumphs of the inner conflict, by them we are raised
above to Godlike exaltation and the fire that consumes our frozen natures like
the flaming Chariot of Elijah bears us while living, into
a higher world. & bring These triumphs bring to our
homes & lives a great peace, a purified gladness.
Pleasure means to one something so vastly different
from what it does to another, in fact so great is this
