May 29th.
Tuesday. 6 of the laundresses have such sore
hands, with rub'g [rubbing] the ship clothes, that we
are at a loss what to do for them, Mrs. Goodlet
proposed a lotion of Arnica and water, which
shall be tried at once.

Wednesday 30th. Wrote to the Secturay [secretary] (Mr. Hill)
requesting him to send drays to fetch the
clean linen,

Thursday 31st.

Friday. June 1st. Money received for work done [sup] last [end sup] this
month is £27__ there is however several a/cs. [accounts] due
which we hope to get soon, which together
with the ships washing will am't [amount] to a large sum
next month.

Saturday 2nd. W[?]. Gardener gave notice to leave
this day week, "because the walking
made him lame". Received a note
from Mr. Hill asking us to allow the clean
linen to remain, untill [until] after "cooling"[underlined - could be coaling].
