Thursday 6th
Mrs Roberts came home this morning I have
been settling all little matters that have
been under my gurisdiction [jurisdiction] I return home
to morrow after the Committee have met.

Feby 6th 1868.
Thursday morn'g 1/2 past 5 oclk. I returned
pr "City of Melbourne."

Friday 7th
Ladies General Com't 7 ladies
present. number of inmates in the Refuge 35.
Received a note from Cap't Scott requesting
admittance for Robina Dyball. She was charged
with stealing. I told the policeman we only
took "[underline]fallen[end underline] characters". he was however so pressing, that I consented to keep her, untill [until]
4oclk, to try if the com't could do anything for
her, and he promised to call at that hour, to
hear the result of the ladies conference.
Sarah Nelson asked the ladies to let her out threatening " to climb the wall if they did not". on their refusal she went away, returning again in a few minutes (dressed in her own clothes) stood at the gate demanding her dismissal, so the ladies consented but under protest.
