1866.
May 25th.
Friday. We have providentialey [providentially] had beautifull [beautiful]
weather all week, all the 452 blankets
are well washed dried and tied up in fives.
Matron took a turn at folding - and
turning the Mangle, to cheer them on-

Saturday 26th. There has been more quarrelling
amongst the inmates this week, than
usual, which has been most trying now we
are so busy.

Mrs. J. Dawson [sup] brought [end sup] cheering news about Emily
Turner, she is giving great satisfaction in her
situation, and is herself happy & contented. May we
not hope she is a "brand plucked from the burning".

Sabbath 27th. Mr. E. Robinson addressed in the morn'g
Bible class 3 oclk - with Matron
Mr. Pratt address in the eve'g 39 inmates.
Mr. Mills we are sorry to hear is not able to attend thro' sickness.
Jane Walters made her escape, her object in
coming was to bring messages to Susan Davies, we
are sure, as she has continued to want to go, ever since
Susan's exit. And there is every
reason to fear they will both go back to their old
haunts of wickedness and sin.
