June 10th.
Saturday. Owing to the continued wet weather
we could only send a portion of the washing home
it is a sad misfortune. and so many inmates
(30). We are in danger of loosing [losing] our customers,
by not sending home the work punctual. [punctually].

Sabbath 11th. No minister in the morn. [morning]. Matron
and inmates read 9th & 10th chaps [chapters] Math'w [Mathew] every other verse, Singing and prayer. also
a chapter from "Sunday at Home". The unsound
Foundation" was read by Mary Mitchell.
Rev'd Sellars held service in the afternoon.
Mr Ayton eve'g [evening].

Monday 12th. The rain prevents our drying the clothes outside
therefore had to purchase extra lines and clothes
horses (four). and try what can be done by the fires.
They were all second hand. 9/6 for the 4.

Teusday [Tuesday] 13th. The continued wet weather try's [tries] the temper and patience of the laundresses and renders
them more dificult [difficult] to manage.

Wedensday [Wednesday] 14th. Mary Saunders has been quiet and orderly. also been very usefull [useful] in ironing.
