25 Inmates in the Houses

The Secretary mentioned that the meeting had
been called to consider the case of Lizzie
Graham who had behaved in a much
improper manner to Mrs Baker.

Resolved that Lizzie Graham
be desired to make an apology for her
conduct in the presence of the Ladies
and on consenting do so was permitted
to remain.

Resolved that Fanny be forbidden
to take any messages to any of the Committee
unless the Matron writes a note.

After some consideration on the
subject it was resolved that the Gentlemen be
requested to pay Mrs Baker's salary as soon
as possible & if they have no funds for the purpose
the Ladies Committee intends to withhold
the necessary from the money earned in the
Institution.

The Ladies having been informed
that a heavy debt was still pressing and
preventing many many improvements it was
resolved that a deputation wait on the
Colonial Secretary on as early a day as
convenient and request his assistance.

The deputation named were Mrs L D Thomson Mrs Allen the Secretary.
