after lunch. War ships
in evidence. Reporters
came on after me but I hid
in 1st class. They got me in
Customs. I refused inter-
view. Rotters will never pub-
lish anything I wirte. How
am I to live! Mother, Lena,
Mrs Morgan & Mrs McCarthy
met me. Was met with
death of little Mary. Ghastly
home coming. Gibsons &
May & girls came in
evening. Norman came
up from Wollongong

The "little Mary" referred to would be Ruby and Will Brydon's 6 year daughter Mary M. Brydon who died at St George District Hospital on the 1st November 1932 ( Sydney Morning Herald 3rd November 1932, death notice p.8, funeral notice p.7)
