8 SUNDAY Showers. Aunt and mother went to town to see Aunt Gus. I stayed home and wrote. Mrs Godfrey called with fruit: nectarines and peaches.

9 MONDAY Mother and Aunt Eliza went to show in afternoon.

10 TUESDAY Mother and Aunt Eliza went to Ruby's all day. Great relief to me. Oh, if Mother would only go away for a week or 2.

11 WEDNESDAY Mother and Aunt Eliza went to matinee. God give me sleep and peace.
