Left Sydney at 9.45 with Father. Hot day but night wind got up as we neared Goulburn & there was a big fire away on the left.
Arrived Goulburn at 3.40 & changed for Komungla where I was met by car & taken in terrific wind to Currawang. Just north of Goulburn the wind was completely blowing away the earth from a man's maize patch. Travellers in carriage were of opinion that Goulburn was a dead town but for the Railway & Asylum.
Saw a fire start near Tiranna [Tirranna] but wind so violent that it actually blew it out
