Wednesday 9
Sun early but soon clouded over. A. Cross came as usual with goodies. The click of the gate waked me but I did not get up. Too cold. I cd not prevail against the cold. It made me feel really sick. I apologised to Alex Sheppard about having to ring off yesterday. It was Clem Christesen he wanted to bring out. I also rang Beatrice abt. the Cockatoos ['Cockatoos' underlined] family tree. Gave A. Andresen a bottle of cream. Curled up under rugs & read Judah W's novel. Got Curtis to look at gas stove for leak. He cd not find it. Took ½ of Dr A's sleeping pill & went to bed at 9.
