Muggy warm day ending in steady rain. Worked on Pixie's demand. Gave Smiths plums. Called on Mrs Bennetts and gave her beans and tomatoes. Alice Prichard telephoned, a long call. I tried to get a carrier for Aunt L 's desk but he asked £ 1 per hour.
