Sunday 1
Fine day with chill wind in evening. Frank & nephew burst in during morning to mow lawn & I gave them coffee & cake. Gave Mrs A the coffee & tarts left over & she gave me some roast lamb & veg, very nice. Pearl & Ruby came in afternoon. I got them tea. Thus went another day without finishing essay. I was dead exhausted but laundered a woollen jumper & darned it while listening to Toynbee lecture - a treat. Wrote 2 letters.
