Cold day - some sun in morning but clouds arose. Renée Mudie telephoned. She is here with the boys. Mrs Morgan was in to telephone. Mrs B brought stewed quince in return for my gift of pumpkin cream. Mrs Andreson in to get a certificate of character for a job. I washed my head & dried it in the sun. Cleaned the bean bed but it exhausted me. Did a little pruning of fig tree. Chilblains threatening. Turned on heater for tea & to warm toes before bed. Delys telephoned twice - 2nd time that Walker will come tomorrow. [last 8 words written along right hand side of page]
