Fine chilly day. Disturbed by departure of the Fogdens. The Coatses & I wept openly. May came up last & she wept too. Winnie did not say goodbye: she went early. Ruby came in & took my time from 2.45 till 5. Then Margaret Trist telephoned for a long time - wants me to sponsor her for a grant from CLF. I don't think she's worth it.
