last evening they set up an imaginary
shop beside my bed & Madelle [Mademoiselle] & I
were the purchasers. All the play in
French it was quite amusing to me
and altho I daresay English [original text crossed out- is a] may be
a little sacrificed – it is a great matter
nowadays to get one foreign language
so easily and naturally acquired
& they get on steadily with all the
other Rs – Ch is barely 8 years –
he reads very well & loves a book
really as well as he loves flowers –
