all much cheaper than I could get here
And I brought over those pretty
cheap painted window blinds –
mine are pale gray with a wreath
of Ivy in bright green round and
a wreath of Ivy & holly berries in
the middle of the blind

Everyone admires them so much.
I have a very pretty parlour maid
who is also house maid
a very good cook. and Norah
completes my little household
Norah is invaluable so devoted & so
attentive to us and to my visitors
She takes all small charges off me
and identifies herself with me completely
always with that composed manner
She is so much liked wherever we go.
And does famously in Denmark
I begin to know a good many people
I have not yet become intimate with
more than two or three –

Any number of Ladies live here
and there is a real Mrs Grundy
very few gentlemen frequent the
place – and I must say as a rule
