Mr C: to the States, California – &c &c –

perfectly well – bright & merry –
Mrs B- Neill saw her constantly
and had lunch with her before
they left on the Monday – in short
less than half an hour before
they left for the Dalgetys – and
during that night she died –
as you I doubt not have said
from taking a bottle of chloroform
into bed with her – the heat of
her hand had it is supposed
caused the stopper to pop out –
